Recently a good friend salvaged an old shutter that had previously been used as a room divider… I immediately thought Christmas cards!!! I took the shutter outside and got to painting. First I cleaned it (read sprayed it with the hose and left to dry) then painted with “real red” (Sherman Williams) paint, and let dry. Then I used some left over brown paint here. Lastly I used sandpaper to give it a worn look.
It started raining so I brought it in on the porch (I liked how it looked there- maybe after Christmas). Once dry I brought her in and starting placing cards!! I love how it turned out!!!
