If you are following along, I blogged day one of our honeymoon here. This recap will be day 2….
Since we were a bit jet lagged, we woke up early, and were at the Tower of London by 9am (from Hotel Ashburn take the District or Cirlce line to Tower Hill) We skipped breakfast at the hotel (they provided a great free breakfast every morning) and stopped at Apostrophe for coffee. (a cute shop along the river) We took some photos of the Tower, Tower Bridge and river before queing (lining up) to enter Tower. We were warned there would be lines/crowds, and to head straight to the crown jewels. But since we were there early, we literally we were able to have our very own Yeomen Warder’s tour! (they go every half hour)
Things to make sure you see at the Tower..the ravens and the lelegend that goes along with it, (see below) the chopping block, (think Anne Boleyn & Catherine Howard who were beheaded by Henry VIII here) medieval Palace (C’s favorite tons of Armor, and you can see the names of prisoners carved in the walls) traitor’s gate and be sure to go on the wall walk (you can get great photos from here)
