As most of you know I only have 6 states left to visit. With one of them being Rhode Island. I often find myself looking for things to do in the last 6 states. Using visitrhodeisland.com, and gonewport.com I have decided that the Cliff Walk in Newport, RI, is the perfect reason to visit Rhode Island. It has been named one of the “50 Places of a Lifetime” by National
Geographic Traveler. This means I have to go right???
The walk wraps itself around Newport’s Atlantic
Coastline. The crashing surf is on one side while the Mansions, are on the other. There are also tons of events throughout the year. Click here to see a list of what you can look forward to doing.
The Inn was even featured in a Falls Vineyard Vines catalog!
She notes “The Lawn at Castle Hill is one of the best seats in town. A great place to take in the view and mingle with other guests.”
was built by the Vanderbilt family. The house was built as a Summer Home for Cornelius Vanderbilt II. It was constructed between 1893 and 1895. I loved, loved the Biltmore, when C and I visited this past fall!! So I am sure that this mansion would not disappoint. I am looking forward to going back to the Biltmore in October 2012 for a wedding! I am sure it will be amazing!!
