Like many – I’ll be watching the season finale of the Bachlorette tonight with friends – but for me I’ll be watching with sister-friends, as Hannah is also a fellow Alpha Chi Omega! I am excited to see who she chooses and have been trying to avoid the spoilers online – goodness knows this season has been quite dramatic.
With that being said – tonight is just also a great excuse to host a get together/viewing party with friends. So when ABC Fine Wine and Spirits reached out to partner to create & share some themed drinks for the occasion – I quickly said yes, as locally they are the one stop shop for everything you need to host the ultimate party (or tailgate since that is around the corner)
Below are my suggestions..
However, if you are hosting a viewing party I’d love to hear what themed drinks or treats you are having, and who do you think will receive the final rose? .
Paint the Town Pink Rosé – Affordable and so delicious with hints of wild berries that even the Luke fans will love. I did receive some of this Rose to try prior the post and I must admit it was the perfect refreshing Rose for the Florida Heat! I even went back to pick up a few bottles to have one hand to pair salads, and fish dinners this summer!
Four Roses Bourbon – This mister says I always forget the guys when doing themed parties- so may I suggested grabbing something for the guys in the group with this spicy and smooth bourbon served chilled on the rocks.
Alabama Slammer – Because a nod to Alabama was a must – A fruity mix of amaretto, sloe gin and Southern Comfort that is most definitely Miss Alabama approved.
- 1 ounce amaretto liqueur
- 1 ounce sloe gin
- 1 ounce Southern Comfort
- Orange juice
- Orange slice
- Maraschino cherry
Add amaretto, sloe gin and Southern Comfort to a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir until well mixed. Strain into a Collins glass filled with ice. Top with orange juice. Garnish with an orange slice and maraschino cherry.
Stud Muffins – Last but not least, you know I had to add a baked good to the line up. These boozy bacon bourbon cupcakes are a savory mix of sweet and salty that will have your guests there for all the right reasons. ABC Fine Wine and Spirits featured them on their Beyond the Bar Blog and they were the perfect pairing for this occasion – with their permission I am sharing the recipe below:
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 stick butter salted
- 6 tablespoon whole milk
- 6 tablespoons Maker’s Mark
- 2 sticks salted butter, room temperature
- 3 cups powdered sugar
In a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, whip the butter for 30 seconds. Add the powdered sugar 1 cup at a time. Scrape the sides in between each addition and start mixing slow then increase to medium/high. Mix for 30 seconds between each sugar addition. Stop and scrape down sides. Frosting will be light and creamy. Chill in the refrigerator for 5 minutes before frosting.
For Bacon topping:
